Kratos' journey might still need to wait for its continuation as Sony will be unveiling the God of War 4 at the Electronics Entertainment Expo this June 2015. The upcoming E3 event will be when Sony will announce the GOW 4 theme and its possible release date which is projected to be in 2017. For the mean time, Sony is busy working on the remastered God of War 3 which is scheduled to be released on July.
Ever since the prospect of remastering the God of War 3 came out, many fans have showed excitement for the continuation of the epic saga in the God of War 4. Cory Barlog, headwriter had clarified in an interview with PlayStation regarding the release of the remastered GOW 3.
"Remasters often help us open the door to new players who perhaps did not play 'God of War 3' five years ago, but who we can bring it to on the PlayStation 4. People often forget, the more players we can bring into a franchise, the better for everyone. At Santa Monica Studio, we'd like as many PlayStation fans to experience our games as possible, from generation to generation."
Barlog also added that Sony is not in the rush to create the God of War 4. The company wants the fans and gamers to enjoy the God of War 3 in its remastered form first.
"Imagine if a game like that [God of War 3] came out on PS4, right. Well, thanks to the fine folks at SCEA we do not have to imagine anymore because God of War 3 remastered is here!"
However, some reports would claim that the upcoming God of War 4 will be featuring a new mythological being. This being is said to replace Kratos in the GOW franchise. Now who would this new creature be?
Rest assured though, Sony will not disappoint their fans and announce some good news for GOW gamers. As the remastered version of the GOW 3 is almost done and ready for release on July, the God of War 4 will certainly come a month earlier as Sony unveils the much awaited game at the E3 2015.
