Telrad Networks said it plans to acquire Alvarion Ltd.'s broadband wireless access business in a $6.1 million deal.
Telrad, a wireless broadband technology firm in Israel, disclosed that the rapid growth of broadband wireless access (BWA) worldwide is the main reason why it decided to reach agreement with Alvarion. BWA is seen with stronger demand because of its major role in enabling wireless connectivity to cover the need for internet services in areas where infrastructure is less.
Chief executive of Telrad, Ran Buskspan, said in a statement that both companies share common level of technological knowledge that implies significant growth potential as they combine with the BWA division. He added that they see BWA plays vital role in generating growth in the future.
Besides, Alvarion and Telrad concluded a reseller agreement under which the former and the latter will provide carrier license Alvarion business solutions to distributors and business partners, respectively.
