Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Update: Lawsuit delays release date? Silent Hills officially cancelled

By

The latest Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain update might be a sad note for a lot of fans as the title could be the last in its series. With Kojima leaving Konami, the successful series is seeing its end once the fifth would be released.

Going back to how the title has been progressing, Hideo Kojima has given the fans something to liven up their taste buds as of last year. This would be none other than Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which was playable on PC and various consoles.

The demo was noted to only give a short gaming experience despite the controversial pricing, as reported in Geeksnack. Because of this, some fans decided to overlook Ground Zeroes and just be patient for the actual Metal Gear V game.

However, there may still be good news to those who missed Ground Zeroes as LoveDeterrence, a user from Reddit, suggested that the demo may be played alongside Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain even if the former title was not purchased. This rumor was derived from a promotional image which featured both games on the official Konami Website, though the URL is no longer accessible.

As it has been reported in LoadtheGame, MGS5 might be the last in its series as the partnership between Konami and Kojima are about to come to an end. Despite working together for decades, the split appears to be on shaky terms as Konami will be taking out Kojima's name from the MGS5 promos.

In addition to that, Konami has also announced that Silent Hills will no longer be released. The title is a joint effort among Konami, Kojima, and Guillermo del Toro, who is a Hollywood director.

Meanwhile, a report from ChinaTopix puts Konami in another tough spot as an Italian neurosurgeon intends to place a lawsuit for being physically imitated in the Metal Gear Solid V trailer. According to the report, this may have been derived from one of his TED talks. More information has yet to be sourced from this investigation.

With this Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain update, gamers should look forward to more news as well as the release come September for PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and for PC. The setting will be 9 years from when Ground Zeroes transpired.
