Criminal Minds season 11 is finally confirmed and it look like fans can expect a much happier and maybe in love Spencer Reid as the show's showrunner Ericka Messer revealed some spoilers for the upcoming season. Also, possible "fun" guest stars to appear on the first episodes of the season 11.
CBS' announced the renewal of Criminal Minds and it seems like as some of the character left the show, new characters might be introduced as Messer had stated that the production team is "really reflecting on the comings ang goings of the people".
After the death of Spencer's girlfriend Meave, writers and Messer herself wants to "see" the character happy and in love again after two years of mourning over the death of his girlfriend. According to Messers the new love interest of the character might not be Dorian Loker as according to her the Spencer-Dorian love line is not happening anytime soon.
The show suffered from multiple lose of casts as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Emily Churchill will not be coming back for the next season meanwhile A.J Cook might be gone for the first couple of episodes as she will be on maternity leave.
Jennifer Love Hewitt confirmed that she won't be coming back to Criminal Minds season 11 to focus on the birth of her second child but it looks like Jennifer is not alone as A.J Cook announced that she's also pregnant only she won't be leaving the show but might take a break on the first few episodes of the season.
Messer revealed her plans for the upcoming season, "my hope is we could have a fun guest star when A.J.'s on maternity leave," Messer says. "It will be different because JJ won't be there. There is no replacing her as we know, but there's an opportunity there to have fun for a few episodes."
Although Criminal Minds' ratings had decreased by 14% in the demo and 5% in viewership as the other shows of CBS, it still belongs to the top 3 shows of the station proving its long-standing support from the fans which calls for season 11 renewal.
