The mobile video game Badland developed by a former two-man team now comes with its better quality and surely a more difficult twist on their puzzles in their Game of the Year Edition that will be released in spring this year for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Wii U and Steam for Linux, Microsoft Windows and OS X. It was first released on the iPAd during April of 2013.
The game mainly centers on a little fluffy black flying creature named Clony navigating over a forest, solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles through four stages-Dawn, Noon, Dusk and Night. The final stage leads to a cliffhanger which then is continued by in-app purchases that includes the story of Snorfy and Fury.
Earlier last year, a level pack called "Doomsday" was released by its developer Frogmind, featuring then Fury and his escape from the machine-ridden woodland. Also included is the "Daydream" level pack where Snorfy is the main game play character.
Badland just keeps fans excited with each updates, with which the latest is the BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition bringing improvements onto PS4, Xbox One, Windows, Mac, Linux (through Steam), Wii U, PS Vita and PS3, as they have posted on their blog.
"The new game builds on the beautiful, hand-painted graphics of the original with enhanced Full-HD visuals," says author Johannes Vuorinen on the blog. "But the biggest change is the gameplay."
Vuorinen also added that they have expanded the controls with analog stick and triggers. This version allows the simultaneous use of controllers and/or keyboards, giving the player a lot more freedom such as flying backwards and controlling speed.
"The Game of the Year Edition offers over 4 times more content than the original did when it was first launched," says Vuorinen. "It has over 15 hours and 100 levels of single-player story content and 100 co-op and 27 multiplayer deathmatch stages in an up-to-four-person local multiplayer mode. And did I mention that it looks awesome from a large TV and feels very much at home on the platform. If you saw the console/Steam version first, you would not suspect that it wasn't initially made for them."
The latest version will soon be coming on us this spring, but the exact date and price is to be announced yet. It's no denying that Frogmind keeps their players on the go for more enhancements of the game. Now after this edition which will be coming up this spring and we can't just wait for more to roll.
