Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Review, Updates: A Smaller Watered-Down from the Original with Less Download Time

By

Definitely, this is the nazi-killing machine, the action-adventure first-person shooter video game that you've been waiting for - but not quite. You'd still find the seemingly guilt-free pleasure of tearing your enemies to pieces with your automatic weapons and hand guns. And scatter blood and gore all over. But If you're thinking of finding a deeper story, a wider scope an expanded villain list, you're bound to be disappointed. You could say this is a watered-down version of the tight action-filled game you've run into last year.

Definitely, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is the prequel to the original though released at a later date - akin to the Lord of the Rings saga. But this time around, in this warfare staged in WWII, you'll find your area of operation and story twists wanting.

If it were favorite soup, you'd wonder if your go-to cook is on a hurry for a date somewhere . Because of this you might even conclude that Wolfenstein: The Old Blood sans the carrying its brand name, this could be an entirely new game.

First stop. Character development.

True, you'd still find them Nazis rolled in your combat screen by the hundreds coming out of every nook and cranny you can imagine. But even this clear unambiguous villain have been sorely limited in this iteration.

And it's not only the villains, your characters allied immediately to you are found wanting too. You will operate with but a handful of friends. And to add injury to insult, they have but short life expectancies.

Scope is another thing. Instead of a warfare that spans decades over half a dozen countries you get to fight in a single day and night in an area that's severely limited. Ouch!

The only good thing - if you are tired of the waiting game - is because there are less data and pixels to download, you won't have to wait ages to get to the next level. Giving you non-stop shooter action that's going to get you stuck for hours on end.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is rated R18+ and can be played for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and your PC.

Of course, this is still largely donning the same excellent formula by New Order. You still have thrilling combat scenarios and mayhem. But apparently, last year's Wolfenstein: The New Order provided too large a shoe to fill for Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.
