There's still a possibility for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D spin off in ABC. Regardless of current reports that the series' spinoff is dead, despite the confirmation that it is in the early stage of development in April, today, Paul Lee said that there is still a probability that the project will push thru.
During a teleconference on Tuesday, the Upfront presentation of the Network in New York, Lee talked about "Agent Carter," and "SHIELD," which comes back midseason with 2nd season, disclosing that these series are likely to have spinoff.
The spinoff was speculated to be about Nick Blood's Lance Hunter and Adrianne Palicki's Bobbi Morse, and Lee said, "We absolutely love those characters on 'SHIELD,'" so much so that they didn't want to mess with success by attempting a spinoff at this point.
The spinoff was from the events that occurred on the flagship show, which featured Ward (Brett Dalton) kidnapped Morse during this season's second to the last episode. On the other hand, the spinoff's development announcement, many viewers asked why the flagship show would give up two characters that have shared creative turnaround to S.H.I.E.L.D. in the second season.
This isn't just an issue about whether Hunter and Mockingbird will end up as a couple. It will be an eternal question about their Agents in the spin-off series. Talking about the spinoff, it looks like that the ball is still in the game. That is fair enough as the viewers will be busy with Agent Carter Season 2.
"SHIELD" has been a top performer in ratings for ABC, and "Agent Carter" maintained the show's momentum in the eight episodes during its winter break. Although, Lee also gave unclear information on John Ridley's Marvel TV Series "American Crime," because Ridley is still working on the project. Will there be a S.H.I.E.L.D spin-off?
