On Sunday, May 17, AMC's long running drama hit "Mad Men" is coming to an end in the series finale in Episode 14 of Season 7, with the title "Person to Person". Saddened fans are to expect what will happen of Don Draper (John Hamm), his family and colleagues at Sterling Cooper and Partners. AMC did not release spoilers of the show's grand finale--leaving fans clueless and excited.
There are several possible conclusions in "Person to Person". However, the most anticipated ending according to fans is Don, dying. They believe that only his death could save him, either through alcohol abuse or from a brain tumor. Some think that Don Draper was the man shown in the series' intro.
The highlight of the previous episode was Betty (January Jones) discovering she has terminal lung cancer with only a few months to live. She refused to undergo treatment. Betty was Don's first wife and the mother of his three children, her nearing death could leave him devastated. The death of Rachel Katz, Don's mistress had a huge impact on him thus, it is highly anticipated that he would feel the same for Betty along with the thought of raising their kids alone. Matthew Weiner, creator and producer of "Mad Men" has the fans speculating on the show's definitive end. Weiner, at the TCA press tour held at Pasadena stated "To delight them (fans) with a surprise, you can't give them everything they want".
The show focused on the lives of six main characters of "Mad Men", which also includes Joan Holloway (Christina Hendricks), Peggy Moss (Elisabeth Moss), Roger Sterling (John Slattery) and Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser). The most anticipated ending of "Mad Men" will certainly surprise the die-hard fans as Slattery said "it was surprising to the end. It's been surprising the whole time".
Episode 14 will wrap up the "Mad Men" series, which lasted for seven seasons. Fans are saddened by the show's nearing end but they are all wondering, "Will Don die?"
