The highly-anticipated anime series My Monster Secret/Jitsu wa Watashi wa is now finally coming to television, as the series is set to premiere on July 6. The series is based on Eiji Matsuda's manga of the same name.
News of the show's premiere was first revealed on their official website. For those not completely familiar with My Monster Secret/Jitsu wa Watashi wa, it is a classic romantic comedy set in high school, but with an odd yet interesting twist.
As it turns out, the show's main character, Asahi Kuromine is enamored with a young girl named Yoko Shiragami, the only catch is that Shiragami also happens to be a vampire, according to the Anime News Network. Kuromine is now tasked with keeping the unusual secret of his lady love under lock and key, and from there, as always, hijinks ensue.
Shiragami is likely to not be the only supernatural character to make an appearance on the show, as the manga source material also features aliens, demons, and other strange creatures wandering about the world. The show will also feature quite a few voice actors of notable acclaim on their cast.
Giving life to the character of Asahi Kuromine will be Natsuki Hanae, according to Desu Daily. Hanae is also the voice of Ken Kaneki for Tokyo Ghoul. Playing Yoko Shiragami for My Monster Secret/Jitsu wa Watashi wa is Yu Serizawa. Serizawa also did voice acting for the character Mirei Minami for the show PriPara.
Yasutaka Yamamoto has also signed on to direct the show. Yamamoto has also done work on Squid Girl and Valkyria Chronicles, according to Crunchy Roll. My Monster Secret/Jitsu wa Watashi wa will air on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, and TVQ Kyushu Housou beginning July 6.
The show will then premiere on TV Hokkaido the day after, and on TV Aichi and TV Setouchi on the 8th. Fans who want to catch a glimpse of the show before it officially hits TV can go to the advance screening event to be held at Coconeri in Tokyo on June 20.
