Google Android One LTE was launched in Europe with better features and a tad higher price - almost twice the amount from its previous versions. The creator of Android could be starting new plans for the Android One smartphone.
Google continues its mission to provide mid-range internet capable smartphones to enable as many individuals to have access in the internet worldwide. The company had its main focus in the third world community but has seemingly evolved its plans by initiating a product launch in Europe. The Android One collaboration with the Turkey based General Mobile will introduce a new class of Google Android One phone. The difference in this Android device is its ability to connect to LTE networks, 13 MP camera and runs on Lollipop 5.1. Its features have obvious upgrades as well as its price.
Android One LTE retails in Turkey for $260, a difference of $150 from its Asian counterparts. The price gap is backed with better features such as Gorilla Glass 4 on its display, Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. Its rear camera is complimented with a 5 MP front cam. Its design follows a leather trend although this one has a type of faux leather in choices of black and white.
This is the first time that Google has launched an Android One LTE features. Its previous versions introduced in Asia have lower specs like a Mediatek processor instead of a Snapdragon. Perhaps it's a good move considering the market differences between Turkey and Asian countries. The socio-economic status of Turkey is quite different than Asian countries such as India, Bangladesh and Nepal where Google had previously introduced its other Android One models. Perhaps the new specs with higher price are based on considerations that Turkey has more spending power.
Google's initiatives are still intact despite the increased price of its new handset model. The price is justified with feature upgrades and strategically launched in a different geographical market.
