Almost a month ago, Vincent Viafore, fiancé of Angelika Graswald, went missing. It was only this month that the authorities found his body. He was believed to have been drowned in Hudson River during a kayaking vacation. Graswald admitted that she planned the crime. What could be the reason for killing? Based from the reports, Graswald have tampered Viafore's kayak and watched him drown. Graswald claimed that she tried to help her future husband. However, there were lapses in her story which makes the authorities question its credibility. Some witnesses even said that they saw her pushed him. Now, she is facing a second degree murder charges.

Graswald is said to have been eyeing on Viafore's two life policies. That was her main motive for apparently killing her soon to be husband. There are also reports stating that she killed Viafore because she felt trapped in their current relationship and could only get away from it by drowning him. This isn't the first time that someone killed their partners for insurance claims. The number of cases has increase over the years and it is pretty much alarming.

Based from the initial investigation, Graswald seemed excited over the death of her fiancé because she was a beneficiary to his life insurance policies. It was believed that she is already planning what to do with the money. However, Graswald's lawyer thinks that this is just a misunderstanding as her client doesn't speak English fluently and might mean a different thing with her statements.

Right after the drowning incident, Graswald reportedly became active on her social networking sites. She posted photos of his now deceased fiancé and her - seemingly having a good time and a perfect relationship. Meanwhile, Graswald's former lover said that she's a very sociable person but has authority issues when mad.
