Draymond Green's mother wants him to stay with the Golden State Warriors

Draymond Green will be a restricted free agent at the end of the 2015 NBA season, but as far as his mother is concerned, his son should continue to play for the Golden State Warriors.

Even though Green's Golden State Warriors are still alive and kicking in the playoffs, the rumor mill has not stopped linking the young forward to the Detroit Pistons, according to Christian Today. For those who might know, Green is from Michigan, the home state of the Pistons, and he even played collegiate basketball at Michigan State.

Not too long ago, rumors have even suggested that it was Green himself who wanted to move to Detroit, and that the Pistons had mutual interest in making the move a reality, according to Fansided. It's hard to say if that's still the mindset Green has, considering just how much the Warriors have come together over the course of the season and in their quest to bring an NBA championship to the Bay Area.

Perhaps the rumors are what prompted Mary Babers-Green to comment on what she thinks her son should do. According to the Latin Post, Babers-Green wants his son to play for a team that loves, and also allows him to grow as a basketball player, and she said that the Bay Area looks to be the right place.

Baber-Green even commented on the mutual affection between the city and her son.

"The Bay loves Dray, and Dray loves the Bay," said Babers-Green. It's worth noting that since Green is a restricted free agent after the season, the Warriors actually hold a lot of power over where he plays next year.

Even if the Pistons were to offer Green a ton of money to play for them, the Warriors can simply match the contract offered to him and bring him back for next year. Right now, Green is in the playoffs playing a huge role for the Warriors as they try to nab a title, and that's exactly where his mom wants him to be.
