The number of people infected with HIV has increased dramatically in the recent years. Evidently, this is very alarming and scary. In Russia, this is what is happening. Sad to say, the condition is getting worse. If you must know, there were only 500,000 reported HIV cases in Russia in 2010. However, the last reported stated 930,000. In just 5 years, the number has been doubled. Apparently, they are still conservative in talking about sex education, which resulted to such increase. Do you think it's about time that we stop being conservative and discuss HIV and sex to the younger population?
Undeniably, sex is a very sensitive topic. However, in the current situation that the world faces, the key is to teach 'age-appropriate' sex education. We can't fully stop people from engaging to sexual activities, but we must ensure that they are aware of the consequences they will have to face. While there are some people who think that abstinence will always be the solution, some consider this 'historic'.
Meanwhile, one man from Missouri has 'recklessly' infected two make sex partners with HIV. He is now on trial. While most people understand the sexual needs of an individual, it is also important that those who are already infected be aware and cautious as they might immediately spread the virus that they are carrying. Hence, contributing to the overwhelming number of victims.
