Lobbyist Amy Overton, formerly of Citigroup Inc, has taken a job with its nearest rival, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. At Goldman, she will be managing a number of issues for the investment firm.
After spending less than a couple of years at Citigroup, the former counsel to Senator Tom Carper (D-Delaware) she moves to Goldman bringing her years of experience negotiating for the Dodd-Frank Act. She would be reporting to Michael Paese, global co-head of government affairs at Goldman Sachs and would have the title of vice president.
For its part, Citigroup declined to comment on the transfer of a key person in their recovery team.
Goldman is now even when it comes to the two parties, with four Democrats and four Republicans on their DC office masthead. Paese is also a Democrat like Overton. Republicans in Goldman include Faryar Shirzad, who also spends time in Goldman's UK, NY and Washington offices.
