Finn and Jake are getting some company, as Frederator Studios, the folks behind the show are now currently working on the cartoon adaptation of the video game Costume Quest. The studio first teased their announcement via a Facebook photo. In the photo, people will see Isaac Ryan Brown, Sinclair Dumont, Aidan Sussman, and Allie Urrutia in what looks to be a just completed recording session.
Frederator Studios then went on to say the cartoon they are currently working on is based on a video game with a name that rhymes with "Mostume Mwest." There's not exactly a ton of guesswork needed to find out what game that might be. Costume Quest's developer, Double Fine Productions, would later confirm the news, according to IGN.
"Wooooo super excited to finally talk about how we're making a Costume Quest cartoon with Frederator! Been a pleasure," said Greg Rice from Double Fine Productions.
Zac Gorman has signed up to write and do storyboard work for the new Costume Quest cartoon. Gorman has some previous experience with the franchise as he also worked on the graphic novel adaptation of the video game, according to Polygon.
Pat McHale has also signed on to direct the new project.
For those who may not be entirely familiar with Costume Quest, it is a turn-based roleplaying game that takes place during Halloween. In the game, a group of kids star as the leading heroes and they defeat all the supernatural enemies they encounter by using the powers they gain from the costumes they are wearing.
Despite being one of the more unique games to make their way to the marketplace, Costume Quest has been successful enough to merit a sequel, Costume Quest 2, which was released in 2014.
Frederator Studios has also worked on the hit show, Fairly OddParents, according to Gamespot.
As of now, a premiere date for the new Costume Quest cartoon has not been set.
