The Apple iPad Mini 4 will reportedly be released through Verizon along with three competing handsets.
Social media tipster Evan Blass tweeted the revelation which has escalated talk about the rumoured new Apple device.
According to online reports, the release of the 7.9-inch Apple tablet is to be scheduled for October.
A review of the Apple release history for the iPad mini had Macworld predicting the same October month release. The report recalls the first iPad Mini was launched in 23 October 2012 and released the month following on 2 November.
The iPad Mini 2 also had a late October and early November launch and release dates in 2013. The iPad Mini 3 was launched in October 16, 2014 and released the same month on October 24, 2014. The period between the reveal and actual release dates is one to two weeks.
Apple though has not yet confirmed anything about the new version. Tech circles have however been rife with speculations of the new iPad Mini 4 having more significant upgrades than its predecessor.
Apple followers have reportedly been dismayed by the little improvements sported by the iPad Mini 3. The rumoured 7.9-in display of the Apple iPad Mini 4 will address one of the supposed complaints about the Mini 3.
Macworld refers to the current iPad Mini as a brilliant tablet but scores it for the disappointing updates. The iPad Mini 3 only had its fingerprint sensor and gold color option differentiating it from the iPad Mini 2. The next iPad Mini is expected to provide more impressive updates.
Macworld cites Japanese magazine Mac Fan suggesting that the new iPad Mini will carry the iPad Air 2's A8X processor. The design will also be thinner likened to the recent iPad Air. The new Apple gadget is rumoured to also come with 2GB RAM, 802.11ac WiFi.
The Apple iPad Mini 4 release is also rumoured to cause the discontinuance of the original iPad Mini and iPad Mini 3.
