The new cover for Secret Wars #4 has just came out and it shows Dr. Doom sitting on his throne. Does this mean big changes for Battleworld as Doom and his family reign over it? The cover is done by Alex Ross and the comic book will be on sale on June 17.
For those who are not fans or avid readers of the Marvel comic books, Secret Wars was launched early this May and it can be considered an epic Marvel event. The eight-issue series present as Marvel Universe destroyed and battle-ridden planet where heroes try to survive and villains scramble to rule what's left of the planet. As Dr. Doom takes over the Throne on top of the world tree in Secret Wars #2, he rules with an iron fist, both literally and figuratively. He becomes the All-Father Doom, serving justice and decrees from his court now called Doomstadt. And now in issue number 4, it seems that Dooms is still on top of everything, keeping order and maintaining power over Battleworld.
Now following this mini-series can be quite daunting as it has numerous tie-ins and the events around the Marvel Universe are all basically tied to Secret Wars, even crossing-over a couple of times with numerous other titles if the Marvel comics. It even follows three interlocking categories: Battleworld, Last Days, and Warzones. And each of these categories have overlapping stories of their own, crossing over with other titles and events around the Marvel Universe.
With a complicated web of story, Secret Wars still follows one main plot, though. And as the series continues, it follows the reign of Dr. Doom and how the universe around him has slowly adjusted to his rule. The Secret Wars # 4 will be on sale this coming June 17 at $3.99.
