Some tv shows leave viewers yearning for more, years after they've aired their season finales, like Gossip Girl, which has had fans constantly asking about a possible reunion. Well, a reunion of sorts did happen, but it did not involve the full cast.
A few months ago, five of the Gossip Girl cast members had a mini reunion mini reunion at a gala fundraising event in Los Angeles. Kelly Rutherford posted a snapshot of Chase Crawford, Michelle Trachtenberg and Jessica Szohr on Instagram, which got lots of likes. So yes, a reunion has happened, and may keep happening, but not the type yet that fans keep hoping for, like a movie featuring the main cast of Gossip Girl, or a new season.
Gossip Girl's legions of fans not only swooned at the reel-life love affair of their idols but also marveled at the lead female actresses' impeccable fashion tastes and sensational looks. It came as no surprise to her followers that Blake Lively now has her own lifestyle website is juggling the demands of motherhood and a movie career that's in full swing.
Pen Badgeley is now frontman of a Brooklyn-based band called MOTHXR. Pretty Leighton Meester, for her part, has similarly focused on her singing career.
Fans got a good dose of dramatics between Blair Waldorf Chuck Bass (played by Ed Westwick), and they themselves shot down reports about a Gossip Girl reunion happening soon.
Most of the cast members now have their respective projects or have come at a turning point in life. The main cast members have also found new relationships. Take for instance Leighton Meester, who is said to have hit it off with O.C.'s Adam Brody. It can be said that some things just evolve naturally. A Gossip Girl reunion may not happen, but it doesn't mean you won't be seeing your favourite stars getting good career breaks on their own, or living the life. A Gossip Girl-O.C. crossover, anyone?
