‘Dota 2’ Update: Latest Patch reveals Hero Buffs and Nerfs on selected hero; Meta-game drastically changed as Patch 6.84 goes live

The meta-game of "DOTA 2" changes as the release of version 6.84 patch became available to players late April. The patch notes release has been the first for this year since and is a prelude to the upcoming "DOTA 2" International Championships in Seattle at Key Arena this coming August.

Valve Corporation is movie fast forward and offering a faster gaming experience for "DOTA 2" players with the extensive patch notes that came with the 6.84 upgrade. Several heroes have seen reduction in their skills and abilities to be able to address the lopsided win percentage these characters have been experiencing in public match plays.

Among these heroes are Juggernaut, Sniper and Troll, which according to data gathered had 26, 42 and 26 percent respectively in "DOTA 2" matches according to Dotabuff. Sniper players had an average of 54.58 percent while Troll Warlord players won in an average of 57 percent in match plays. Eight net items available in the item shop came in with the release of the DOTA 2 Patch 6.84. Competitive play became more interactive and fast paced perfect for longer competitive game plays. Several more adjustments came with the patch including Precision Aura's passive inclusion for pseudo-heroes like Familiars.

Several big changes have been enjoyed in the gameplay of "DOTA 2" since the release of the 6.84 patch notes. Here are a few of the interesting insights and improvements that also came in with the 6.84 patch.

  • Melee lane creep bounty reduced from 43 to 40 (-7%)
  • Range lane creep bounty reduced from 48 to 45 (-6.25%)
  • Hero kills (the non-net worth portions) are worth 10% more
  • Melee Barracks team bounty increased from 175 to 275
  • Ranged Barracks team bounty increased from 100 to 225
  • Tier 2 and 3 towers armor reduced from 25 to 22

What's more interesting with the patch is that the overall game play has changed the pace of the game as well as the flow of the self-contained games inside the "DOTA 2."

Valve continues to improve the gameplay and experience in the popular MOBA "DOTA 2', it adds up to the excitement of the upcoming international event for "DOTA" this August. More updates and fixes are expected to be released as the competition draws near.
