Premier League soccer club Arsenal said that its major shareholder, Stan Kroenke, does not seek to sell his majority stake in the north London club.
Mark Gonnella, Arsenal communications director, told Reuters that the American billionaire, who owns a two-thirds stake, has no plans for selling his stake as he continues to commit to the club for the long term. He added that Kroenke had never made deal for the sale of sell any of his investments in sports. and that they have not received any offer from potential investors.
Kroenke, who also owns NFL's St. Louise Rams, has been criticized by many Arsenal fans for his low profile, claiming that he focuses more on making profit than on the success of the club as well as for selling best players to rival clubs.
The Arsenal have never won a trophy since 2005 and are facing supporters disappointed with expensive ticket prices at the club's Emirates stadium.
