"Outlander" recently aired one of the most shocking and painful episodes this season and probably in the history of television. As the show is down its season one finale on Saturday, May 30. Sam Heughan, who plays Jamie Fraser on the Starz time traveller series revealed that season 1 will end with a "big reveal" that will change Jamie's entire life.
Speaking to Collider, the Scottish actor brushed up on several details of what fans can expect in the season finale of "Outlander." Heughan said that Jamie will be facing one of the biggest revelations of his life that will change the course of his life and relationships and that the season will end at a "really strange place." While Heughan was mum on the details, fans of Diana Gabaldon's book series believe that this revelation has something to do with Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) pregnancy.
Meanwhile, the actor also teased several details of what fans can expect in season two. Heughan expressed hope that "Outlander" season 2 will get "darker and more complex." The 35-year-old actor also revealed that Jamie and Claire will learn more about themselves and about each other, as they continue to fight for their lives and relationship.
Showrunner Ron Moore previously revealed that "Outlander" season 2 will continue filming most of their scenes in Scotland. Heughan also revealed that there will be a time jump in season two.
"Outlander" is based on Diana Gabaldon's eight-book series and the second season will be taken from book number two, "Dragonfly in Amber."
