Christina Aguilera's contribution to the "Finding Neverland The Album" entitled "Anywhere But Here" was recently unveiled online.
The album, slated for release on June 9, serves as a compilation of songs from the Broadway musical "Peter Pan," according to Time. Aguilera is one of the many artists who lent their time to make the album a reality. Other singers who were involved in the album include John Bon Jovi, John Legend, Nick Jonas and Jennifer Lopez.
According to Direct Lyrics, Republic Records came up with the idea to re-imagine the most popular songs from "Peter Pan" to bring the tracks closer to every household. Additionally, Tom McKay, Republic Records' exec vp and general manager told Billboard, "It's about getting a chance to see some of the biggest names of music stepping outside of their normal lane and what we're used to hearing from them."
McKay is confident that fans will be pleased with the album especially since all of the songs are performed by their favorite celebrities.
"In essence, fans of these artists will discover the story and the play in a way they wouldn't have otherwise, and on the flipside, fans of the play will discover some of these artists in a way they might not have in their daily lives," he added.
The songs off of "Finding Neverland The Album" include Zendaya Coleman's "Neverland," Kiesza's "Stronger," Jonas' "Believe," Ellie Goulding's "When Your Feet Don't Touch The Ground" and Paloma Faith's "Circus Of Your Mind." "American Idol" judge Lopez will collaborate with Trey Songz in "What You Mean To Me," while Rita Ora and Sage the Gemini sang "Are We Gonna Play?"
"Finding Neverland" star Matthew Morrison will also have a song in the album entitled, "We Own the Night." "Finding Neverland The Album" will be released on June 9 but digital pre-orders officially started on May 12.
