Marriott International has partnered with IKEA's IKEA.UL real estate arm for the launch of a new hotel chain in Europe for travelers.
The opening of the first Moxy hotel is expected in Milan, Italy, with price of rooms ranging from 60 to 85 euros, by early 2014. All Moxy hotels will be equipped with USB ports next to wall sockets and will have floor-to-ceiling wall art that represents the local city.
Marriott chief executive Arne Sorenson told Reuters during the IHIF hotels fair held in Berlin, Germany that each room at hotels will be having the same size and decorations, marking the hotel operator's aim of keeping costs under control.
Marriot said that it wanted to open 150 of European hotels over the next ten years in countries from the UK to Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands.
