Fans of The Walking Dead are already gearing up for the spin-off series Fear the Walking Dead premiere. Another comic book adaptation is already in the works. Preacher, the comic book series based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's cult 1990s comic is reported to make its debut to the small screens in 2016.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are working on the supernatural series for AMC. The series is based on the DC/Vertigo comic. It follows the story of Jesse Custer played by Dominic Cooper, a small-town preacher who finds himself at his faith's end. Things would get even more complicated as he accidentally merges himself with a powerful creature named Genesis who has escaped from Heaven. Genesis is the product of an unholy union between an angel and a demon. The merging grants Custer with the ability to make anyone do anything he says. Custer then forms an unlikely alliance with old girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and hard-drinking Irish vampire Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).
British actor Tom Brooke will also be joining the cast as a series regular. He will be playing Fiore, one of the two angels who are sent to Earth to retrieve Genesis. Rogen and Goldberg will be directing the pilot episode. Filming is currently in production and Rogen has posted new pictures on set via his Twitter.
Preacher will focus on Custer's quest to literally find God as it is discovered that the almighty being has abandoned his heavenly duties and has escaped Heaven. Custer will take it upon himself to make sure that he finds answers
While it is unconfirmed yet, Preacher will be making its debut sometime in 2016.
