The world's most well-known and largest chain of ice cream specialty shop, Baskin-Robbins, has released a statement regarding its plans to open another 200 shops in Australia. The major expansion will be handled by a UAE corporation, Galadari Brothers.
Under the master franchise business partnership, there is a requirement to triple the presence of Baskin-Robbins in Australia in the coming ten years. A twenty percent share in the new venture will be maintained by the mother company of Baskin-Robbins, while the daily operations will be handled by Galadari Ice Cream Co (GICC). There is still a need for regulatory approvals before the plan will be executed.
GICC is the exclusive distributor of Baskin Robbins in Middle East and the world's largest distributor with more than 500 stores situated across UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait. President of Dunkin' Brands International Giorgio Minardi said "GICC has done an outstanding job of making Baskin-Robbins one of the preeminent ice cream brands in the Middle East, and we believe they can do the same in Australia, one of our high opportunity markets."
