After the release of the 1.04 patch for the action RPG Witcher 3: Wild Hunt May 26 for PC platform users, the game's developer CD Projekt Red had Community Coordinator Marcin Momot take to Twitter to address questions about the arrival of the patch for console players. Momot assured that patches for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of Witcher 3 were on the way, but were taking some time due to the certification process from Microsoft and Sony.
In a response to a question posted on the microblogging site, Momot said, "Unfortunately we can't give the exact date. Patches on consoles need to be certified so it takes longer than on PC."

However, when pressed for a definite release date for the release of the patches, he gave assurance that once the patch passes the certification process from both companies, it will reach console players.
Splat @Splat_86 May 25@Marcin360 are console players getting any love soon?
Marcin Momot @Marcin360@Splat_86 Yes. The console patches are in certification right now. As soon as they are approved, they will be released. May 25, 2015
The 1.04 patch for Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt addresses stability and other technical issues in the game, but the most touted benefit of the patch is for players running the game under High and Ultra graphics settings, as it increases the texture rendering quality for the game. To be specific, the game increases the amount of video memory dedicated to textures on the Ultra setting. As indicated in the release notes included in the patch by CD Projekt Red, "Texture rendering quality for the high and ultra presets has been improved."
As soon as the 1.04 update patch for Witcher 3 was made available, players have posted comparisons online about the improvements that the patch delivered. Several gaming websites covering the release of the patch have posted side-by-side comparisons of in-game screenshots, in which a sharper, more distinct image can be seen, even for background and environment elements.
Patch 1.04 also converts the default image sharpening level in the 1.03 patch to its low sharpening setting.
