Growth Promised by EMC and VMware

Software giant VMware Inc has projected revenue growth in the high 20's by year 2016 as its parent company EMC Corp announced a new revenue target. The new venture is projected to earn US$1 billion and would have Pivotal Inc utilizing VMware's Cloud Foundry together with EMC's Greenplum data analytics software.

EMC is currently the world's largest maker of data storage equipment currently owns VMware. Both VMware and EMC are expecting that Pivotal would be the key for revenue generation especially as the data analytics software is attuned to telecom service providers need to better analyze voluminous data from different technology platforms.

The Pivotal venture would go public and is expected to generate US$1 billion in revenues by 2017 and would be requiring US$400 million in further investments for 2013 and 2014. Pivotal is a combination of both data analytics and cloud application software raising the 2013 VMware operating profits.
