"Pretty Little Liars" season 5 ended with a big reveal, but instead of giving away answers surrounding the mystery behind A's identity, it only left fans with more questions. While PLL executive producer I. Marlene King promised that season 6 will be a "season of answers," fans continue speculating on Charles' real identity.
One popular theory is that Andrew Campbell is the big 'A.' King previously dropped several hints on the identity of A via Instagram. The executive producer posted a photo of a young man facing a teddy bear and captioned: "'A' really does have a soul."
Fans began speculating that the young man in the photo is no other than Andrew Campbell. The Andrew Campbell is 'A' theory also emerged following the release of a teaser trailer of "Pretty Little Liars" season 6. In the short clip, Alison can be seen making a statement following her release from prison. Inquisitr cited that one of the reporters at the beginning of the clip mentioned that Andrew Campbell has been missing since the Liars disappeared.
This only leaves fans with several options: (a) Andrew is the big A; (b) Andrew is working together with Charles; or (c) Andrew is trapped inside the dollhouse (highly unlikely).
Fans previously dismissed the "Andrew = Charles" theory but PLL writer, Maya Goldsmith hinted that fans should not quickly rule anyone out as a suspect.
"We will see [Andrew] next season for sure... You can never rule anyone out [as an A suspect] because A has ways of monitoring one situation and being somewhere else," she teased.
"Pretty Little Liars" season 6 episode 1 titled, "Game On, Charles" premieres on June 2 on ABC Family.
