EXO which is the current trend and the most popular group in the K-Pop scene these days is going to face BIGBANG - SM Entertainment's rival company, YG Entertainment's frontrunner group.
EXO debuted in 2012 with "Mama" and although it was quite known for a rookie group, it did not rise to the levels of domestically and internationally popular groups such as BIGBANG, Super Junior, and Girls' Generation until it hit the music world with "Growl" by storm.
The group last released its full - length album "Exodus" at the end of March, which was just two months ago. The said album broke tons of records in both Korea and international charts that the group or others previously set with its album running for a million sales and music wins in Korean music shows reaching 17 trophies.
This June third, EXO releases the repackaged album entitled "Love me right" which also serves as the title song. The album will include all the songs in "Exodus" and four new others songs that are expected to touch the roofs of various music charts as always happens during the group's releases - unless someone stops them with another album release such as BIGBANG.
BIGBANG, which is argued to be the most known group internationally, has been around since 2007. The group released hit tracks such as "Fantastic baby" that has the most YouTube views for a K-Pop group until the present.
The YG frontrunner has been away for a long time and as a gift for fans, the group will be releasing two songs for five releases and a full-length album that will take months until September to complete.
BIGBANG initially released "Loser" and "Bae Bae" in its first single "M" of the "MADE" project last May. Needless to say, the songs dominated music charts and the album has won trophies on weekly shows as well.
The group is currently in its second single "A" that contains track "BANG BANG BANG" and title song "We like 2 party" releases on June 1.
Just a two day-gap, this will be the first time this year that two huge groups will be promoting albums at the same time. The themes of both title songs "Love me right" and "We like 2 party" are upbeat summer funky songs which BIGBANG has helpfully added that theirs is reminiscent of their most notable hit song "Fantastic baby."
Earlier on May 28 on M! Countdown, SHINee, which is EXO's senior group that just recently started promoting its album "Odd", has previously beaten BIGBANG winning the trophy of the week.
Instead of fan wars ensuing as usually takes place between groups of rival companies, VIPs, BIGBANG's fanbase, has been rather supportive of the group's win against their own, saying that they would prefer to lose to a quality group such as SHINee. This has prompted SHINee World, SHINee's fanbase, to reply with gratefulness and encouragement for BIGBANG's next album and thus love calls beginning to take place between the two on social media.
Aside from the music, another important moment to wait for is the interaction between EXO-Ls (EXO's fanbase) and VIPs, who play large roles in the success of their respective groups. Can the two huge fan groups deal with the wins and losses peacefully like what took place between VIPs and SHINee World?
Everyone in K-Pop is anticipating for the EXO and BIGBANG standoff in their album releases which is said to be the most intense battle in 2015.
