Chicago PD Season 3 is set to return to TV in the fall. Fans of the series are already wondering what will become of Lindsay (Sophia Bush) now that she has spiraled out of control in the last season.
According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, Chicago PD Season 3 will kick off right where the previous season left off. Bush mentioned that her character Lindsay will find herself questioning her life and will be battling her inner demons once again. The troubled cop has taken to alcohol to cope with the death of her friend, Natalie.
"There's a part of me that would like for us to pick up the day after she quits and see what happens. Hopefully it will take a couple of episodes for her to want to go back." Bush said.
The Chicago PD Season 3 Spoilers have reported that Lindsay has turned to pills and drink as her way of coping. She even quit her job against the wishes of Voight.
"It sticks with Lindsay in terms of, 'Where do I belong?' Lindsay starts to look at her badge like, 'Am I better off minding my own business, crawling in a bottle and not reaching out to people?'" show producer Matt Olmstead said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"The enormity of the loss and what she's going through might make it real easy to go over to the other the side of the tracks and start having drinks with her mom. A part of her thinks, 'This is where I belonged to begin with,' so it's a fork in the road." he continued.
Bush also hinted that Det. Erin Lindsay will lose herself for a time, but she will find her strength once again. It was shown in the previous season that she was battling inner demons, but she will eventually come back to herself.
"I think she's going to have a lot to deal with when the next season of the show picks up and we'll have to figure out how to tap back into her strengths," Sophia Bush teased.
Chicago PD Season 3 airs in the fall on NBC.
