Abertis, the infrastructure firm from Spain, is reviewing non-binding offers for its airports business es until the end of March. The proposed value of the sale is at Eur900 million and many have come to make offers.
For the sale, Abertis is being advised by Citi and AZ Capital in screening and reviewing bidders and bids for airport services it holds across many countries. The Barcelona based company has sought the sale of this area of business as it renews its focus on toll roads and telecommunications industries. Its preference though, with some difficulty many analysts believe, would have all its airport interests going to just one specific bidder.
According to one source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the airport sale as a lot would be expected to be slim. The airport stakes are located in Bogota, Columbia, Stockholm, Sweden, Belfast Northern Ireland, Cardiff, Wales and Luton Airport in London.
