A "Mega Man" animated T.V. series will be premiering on your T.V. screens by 2017 with an initial number of 26 episodes. The character will be celebrating its 30th anniversary just as when the show will premier as per the announcement of Capcom.

Capcom, the creator of "Mega Man," announced that the T.V. series is currently being developed by animation companies such as Dentsu Entertainment USA and Man of Action Entertainment. Comingsoon reported that Man of Action Entertainment is behind the Cartoon Network show "Ben 10" and the Disney film "Big Hero 6." Since the initial number of episodes being developed is 26, it is expected that more episodes will be created if the first episodes succeed.

According to Man of Action Entertainment writer Duncan Rouleau, who is writing the new "Mega Man" T.V. series, the show will be cool and different compared to other series as "Mega Man" is a character that is known by a lot of kids today. He added, "We are really looking forward to creating something new that still respects the long tradition of the character."

The other writers for the new animated T.V. series are Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle. These writers, together with Rouleau, worked to produce "Ultimate Spider-Man" and "Marvel's Avengers Assemble" for the launch of the shows on Disney XD as reported by Deadline.

Kinoshita, the head of Dentsu Entertainment, said in a statement that they are excited to introduce the all new "Mega Man" to the loyal fans of the character and for kids to enjoy it. Having the celebrated character from Japan being reimagined is an ideal project according to Kinoshita. "Mega Man" has been part of video games that was first launched in 1987 and it features a blue robot battling enemies. This is not the first time that the character will be part of a T.V. series as an animated show was released in the United States back in the 90s and it successfully aired for several seasons according to The Verge.

"Mega Man" has been a very successful character as it has been part of 130 video games and 30 million copies of these games were sold worldwide. Toys, comics and collectibles were also created from the character.
