‘Pretty Little Liars’ Season 6 Premiere Hits All-Time Low; ‘Songs Of Innocence,’ ‘Songs Of Experience’ Synopsis Released

"Pretty Little Liars" season 6 premiered on Tuesday night, but the highly-anticipated episode entitled, "Game On, Charles" surprisingly did not receive very high ratings.

According to Deadline, the series "Pretty Little Liars" was dubbed as one of ABC Family's most popular television shows, so the show's low ratings on Tuesday was quite unexpected.

Among adult viewers aged 18 to 49, "Pretty Little Liars" received an audience share of 2.378 million. Additionally, the network's strategy of placing its new show, "Stitchers" after "Pretty Little Liars" didn't quite help boost the latter's ratings.

Tuesday night's episode was compared to season five's premiere episode that aired back in June 2014. According to the same publication, "Game On, Charles" was down by 13 percent in total viewership compared to last year's episode. Additionally, the episodes low rating made it the series' least watched premiere from all six seasons.

Meanwhile, despite "Pretty Little Liars'" low ratings, fans need not worry about the show being cancelled because ABC Family has already renewed it until season 7, Wet Paint reported.

Not to mention, the upcoming episodes of "Pretty Little Liars" are expected to rake in higher ratings especially since fans are really curious about finding out who Charles DiLuarentis really is.

Following Tuesday night's episode, the official synopsis for episodes 2 and 3 have already been released.

In episode 2 entitled "Songs of Innocence," Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Mona (Janel Parrish) will have to deal with the events that took place inside Charles' creepy dollhouse.

Despite having escaped captivity, episode 2 teases that all four liars including Mona will be reminded by Charles' cruelty.

In episode 3 entitled, "Songs of Experience," the liars will deal with their individual lives in an attempt to figure out who Charles really is. The synopsis also confirmed that new characters will be introduced in this episode, Melty noted.

"Pretty Little Liars" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC Family.
