Ridley Scott's The Martian Preview, Plot And Star-Studded Cast: Mark Whatney Is Setting Up For The Takeoff

By

Twentieth Century Fox has uncovered the promo for Ridley Scott's The Martian, this Sunday, with the assistance of Mike Massimino, a previous NASA astronaut. Matt Damon capped a channeled tour in Hermes, the ship that will take the Ares 3 operation to Mars in the promotional presentation. The Martian will be seen in theaters, Nov. 25.

Entertainment Weekly specified that the video is presented by astronaut Mark Whatney (Matt Damon), who leads viewers to Hermes crew (with Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan and Michael Pena) as they organize an operation to Mars. In the long run, Whatney bids farewell to audiences and his family: "Have a wonderful year. Just remember, what we do up there, we're doing for everyone here on Earth. This is going to be an amazing journey for all of us. We're all in this together. Mom, dad, I love you. I'll miss you. First thing we do when we get back is go to Gino's for some deep dish. All right. Whatney, out."

As established on Andy Weir's book released in 2012, The Martian concentrates on the outcome of the takeoff. Collider cited Matt Damon as Whatney, the botanist of the ship, gets stuck and unaided on the unreceptive planet Mars after being assumed lifeless by his crew. Apprehending that he has only 28 days to live, instead of crumpling himself out of dread, he knobs down and started to work things out. He has to persist in increasingly hazardous situation, trying to get back home. He must draw upon his resourcefulness all by himself to survive and make a way to hint to Earth that he is actually alive.

ComingSoon.net spotted an all-star cast on The Martian: Michael Pena as Rick Martinez (the pilot), Kate Mara as computer master, Jessica Chastain as Commander Melissa Lewis, Sebastian Stan as Dr. Chris Beck, the aircraft surgeon and Aksel Hennie as German spaceman Aleks Vogel. The cast list also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kristen Wiig, Donald Glover, Jeff Daniels.

Modified for the wide screen by Drew Goddard, The Martian lately completed shooting in Budapest and Jordan. The sci-fi film will be shown in 3D.
