Blizzard proudly announces that a new set of characters would be added to the current selection of 9 class types in the popular computer card game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. The newest features which Blizzard has been developing include new characters, new add-ons, and new modes of purchasing in-game items.
The first character which was revealed under the warrior class is Magni Bronzebeard, the Dwarven King of Khaz Modan. Blizzard describes the character as the eldest of the Bronzebeard brothers. Portrayed as the once doubtful prince of Ironforge, he bravely fought the Second War, directly leading his people into battle. Upon the liberation of his people by the Alliance of Lordaeron, he pledged his kingdom's support.
Blizzard reiterated that changes in Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft such as the addition of new heroes are only cosmetic changes, as they still fit into the existing hero archetypes. They will add new portraits, new abilities, and new card backs. Magni Bronzebeard may be chosen as a warrior class in place of Garrosh Hellscream and would be having his appropriate dwarf lines and unleash his warrior hero powers. Those who will be purchasing Magni would also get a unique card back. Blizzard added that the new characters will fit into the current class structure, but comes with new voice over and animation.
In addition, Magni will also be the first character which could be purchased only by real money instead of the in-game currency. However, add-ons and upgrades can be purchased by either of the two types of credit. In the meantime, Blizzard has "no plans for an in-game gold option" for the new characters. It also clarified that such additions would not impact the current gameplay.
Despite mixed reactions from fans who may spend $10 for aesthetic changes and additions, Blizzard promised that none will affect the gameplay of Hearthstone, plus the gamers get to enjoy new portraits, new voice overs, and new skill sets.
