‘Daredevil 2’ Movie Cast Updates: Jason Statham Confirms He Will Not Play Bullseye In Sequel?

By

Jason Statham may no longer play the role of the villainous Bullseye on "Daredevil 2."

Last week, there were reports that suggested Statham was in the running for the role and fans of the actor and the franchise were excited to see him play the character. However, they were immediately silenced after several publications noted Statham will no longer join the movie due to a number of possible reasons.

According to Screen Crush, it is unclear why Statham begged off for a role on "Daredevil 2." However, the publication hinted that it may have something to do with the actor asking for a much higher pay after fans went crazy over reports that he will play Bullseye.

Meanwhile, Statham previously talked about the state of Marvel movies today during an interview with Spy. At that time, the actor said that he thinks anybody could play a superhero role under the franchise.

"A lot of modern sort of acting movies I see, Marvel comic sort of things, I just think any guy could do it. I mean, I could take my grandma, put her in a cape, put her on a green screen and they'll have stunt doubles come in and do all the action. Anybody can do it," he said.

His recent statements also heightened speculations that indeed, the actor doesn't have to have anything to do with the film or Marvel Studios.

As of late, "Daredevil 2" has already tapped the Rosario Dawson to reprise her role as Claire Temple. Additionally, recent audiotapes hinted that the film creators are currently searching for an actress to play the role of Elektra, Screen Rant noted.

"Daredevil 2" will begin its production towards the end of June and with this report, it can be confirmed that Marvel Studios is still in search for their Bullseye.
