It is official. Last week, Warner Bros. finally released the official sypnosis for next year's biggest superhero blockbuster - 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.'
Here is the sypnosis of the film as shared by Cinema Blend:
"Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before."
When the Batman v Superman film project was first announced in the 2013 San Diego Comic Convention, a lot of fans were curious as to how much the movie would take from the supremely popular 90's graphic novel 'The Dark Knight Returns.' While the plot may not exactly resemble the story in the novel, it certainly captures the dark tones and what the novel has come to represent.
One of the most important questions that now come to mind when hearing a plot of this magnitude and awesomeness - "How will a mortal like Batman ever beat someone as powerful as the godlike alien Superman?" Based on recent rumors, the answer may be simpler than everyone thinks - Kryptonite.
According to an article published by Heroic Hollywood (via Mercury News), there is a possibility that the Dark Knight will resort to using the age-old Superman weakness to beat the Man of Steel. It is rumored that Batman will use a Kryptonite-laced spear in his fight against Superman in the movie as a means to balance out the latter's superior advantage.
Although it is not much of a surprise to learn how Batman is planning to beat Superman, given that the infamous space rock is the latter's only weakness (and that in the novel 'The Dark Knight Returns' which the movie is loosely based on, Batman receives the aid of the Green Arrow who uses a Kryptonite arrow to weaken Superman), it is still a mystery as to how Warner Bros. is planning to introduce Kryptonite to this universe.
