After undergoing some recasting, "People Are Talking" signs in Vanessa Lachey as Mark-Paul Gosselaar's wife in the new NBC series. Lachey had replaced Meaghan Rath for the role as the latter chooses to star in another FOX series.
Previously, NBC gave the sitcom "People are Talking" a go signal and cast Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Meaghan Rath for the lead roles as a couple, Deadline reports.
Just recently however, the new NBC fall sitcom got a face lift as "Bring Human" alum Meaghan Rath was replaced by former "Wipeout" co-host, Vanessa Lachey, as per TV Line's exclusive report.
The recasting was prompted by Meaghan Rath's show from FOX that has her in first position. Rath is also the female lead on FOX's "The Guide to Surviving Life," but has to pick the show over "People Are Talking" since the first position requires her to work exclusively for the show. A compromise from both shows is not likely to happen since they are from different studios for different networks.
Variety reported that early in May, the multi-camera show, "People Are Talking" was added to NBC's 2015-2016 comedy lineup, joined by "Crowded" and "Superstore."
"People Are Talking" follows the story of a two diverse couples who lives next door to each other. The couples, who also treat each other as best friends are obsessed about everything, a realization that hit them while living their everyday lives. Their arrays of topics include sex, race, a baby-sitter as a porn star, and other wild things from their mischievous minds.
Tone Bell and Bresha Webb joins Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Vanessa Lachey and play as their neighbor-best friends in the all new NBC series.
"People Are Talking" will push through with another female lead, Vanessa Lachey, after Meaghan Rath bids goodbye to the show to star in FOX's "The Guide to Surviving Life." Lachey will play the wife of Mark-Paul Gosselaar in the all new NBC sitcom set to premiere on fall.
