Intel Corp is nearing completion in discussions with Time Warner Inc, NBC Universal and Viacom to have access TV shows and movies for its first online pay television service according to anonymous sources.
The largest chipmaker in the world is finalizing the financial terms with the individual media companies. The terms and conditions of the service have been discussed but there are some matters still up for discussion.
This new system would allow access to known shows such as CNN of Time Warner, USA Network of NBC and MTV of Viacom and would be the alternative to current market pay per view services. This creates more flexible services delivered through the customer's broadband account allowing for more choices and channels within an easy to use programming guide.
Other media outlets that Intel is in discussion with are News Corp for Fox film and TV while preliminary discussions are underway with Walt Disney and CBS.
