Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard are reportedly working on a new spy thriller movie directed by Robert Zemckis.

As reported by Variety, after several negotiations Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard could finally be working on a new movie together. It was said that the pairing almost never happened because of her hectic schedule. After shooting the spy thriller, she will also star opposite Michael Fassbender in the highly anticipated "Assassin's Creed" movie.

The actress has reportedly just finished shooting "Macbeth" which was shown at the recent Cannes Film Festival.

The website held that the shooting dates for both films would have overlapped but Robert Zemckis and Brad Pitt asked the executive producers of the spy film to move its production. It was said that shooting was moved to the first quarter of 2016 instead of this summer.

Coming Soon reported that the this is the second movie that Marion Cotillard will be making after the 2012 film "Flight" in which the actress received two Oscar nominations. The screenplay will be written by Steven Knight, known for his works in "Fury" and "Inglorious Bastards." The film is produced by Robert Zemckis, Steve Starkey, and Graham King.

Although the details for the upcoming 2016 spy movie has yet to be confirmed, Cinema Blend hinted that Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard will take on the role of two assassins who fell in love while on a mission to kill a German official. The two got involved in a whirlwind affair and decided to soon get married. Their romance, however, was cut short when Pitt's character found out that his wife is actually a double agent working for the enemy. It was said that the film would be "romantic, mysterious and dramatic."
