Ariana Grande gave her sexist critics a taste of their own medicine as the pop star took to Twitter her reaction. The singer breaks her silence on her current issue with Niall of One Direction and Big Sean.
According to Mirror, Ariana Grande posted an extended essay regarding her 'feminist' views and this resulted on her getting positive feedbacks from her mom, friends and fans. Followed by 29 million on Twitter, Ariana finally gave a written speech about what's on her mind, how fed up she was about people asking who's the boy she is dating now or who was it before. She started saying "Being empowered is not the same thing as being a 'b***h.' Having something to say is not the same as having a bad attitude."
Recently, Ariana was spotted leaving Niall Horan's house 3 a.m. in the morning as reported by Inquisitr. So that added to the speculations about Ariana and One Direction member Niall. To end this, Ariana was quoted saying "I'm tired of needing to be linked to a guy. I'm not Big Sean's ex, I'm not Niall's possible girl. I'm Ariana Grande. If that's not enough, then don't talk to me!"
Ariana, a former Nickelodeon star also stated that she comes from a 'long bloodline of female activists,' and with this, it is clear that Ariana is not just some pretty pop icon who does not know how to defend herself intelligently.
Time reports that Ariana also pointed out on her message that nobody owns her. "What I meant when I said about not being Sean's ex is that I am tired of living in a world where women are mostly referred to as a man's past, present or future PROPERTY/POSSESSION. I... do not. belong. to anyone. but myself. and neither do you," Ariana wrote.
Fans, friends, and even her mom expressed their admiration towards Ariana on Twitter. Taylor Swift, one of Ariana's close friends tweeted: "I'm so proud of you, always. But especially today. 'She will need her sisterhood.'" Her mother, Joan Grande also tweeted that she's so proud of her daughter.
