Nicki Minaj is proving to the world that she is a woman of many talents. The "Anaconda" singer will be starring in the upcoming Barbershop 3 movie.
Nicki Minaj will reportedly be playing a hairdresser in the upcoming sequel. This will be the third installment in the comedy franchise. Minaj will be playing the role of Draya, the sassy new hairdresser who is a welcome addition to the stellar cast, and by the looks of the latest behind-the-scenes-clip, Nicki is already feeling quite at home.
The artist has already proven her chops as both a singer and a rapper. The upcoming movie will see Minaj's acting chops. Minaj has been known for her sassy comebacks, and it will be interesting to see her incorporate her already sassy attitude in her role as Draya.
Anthony Anderson, Eve, Common, Cedric the Entertainer, and Regina Hall will be reprising their roles from the previous installments. Ice Cube will also be returning for the upcoming sequel, and the rapper is already excited to be back to Calvin's Barbershop in Chicago.
"We got a lot of new faces that are gonna keep this franchise rolling and going," said Cube.
The previous installments of the comedy franchise fared very well in ticket sales, grossing a combined $140 million in box office sales worldwide. Hollywood has always been obsessed with sequels, and it will be interesting to see how this one will fare.
Ice Cube will be producing the upcoming sequel alongside Matt Alvarez, Bob Teitel and George Tillman Jr.
Barbershop 3 will be hitting theaters in early 2016.
