Shades of Blue Cast News: Jennifer Lopez to star alongside child actress Sarah Jeffery in NBC's newest drama series

Shades of Blue, NBC's newest drama, which stars superstar Jennifer Lopez is about to come to the small screen. Recent reports and updates regarding the show has been released and it seems like a lot is to be expected by the fans.

Jennifer Lopez will be portraying the role of Detective Harlee Santos, a single mother who works for the FBI's anti-corruption task force unit but is actually involved in a group of cops who specializes in "dirty jobs". Lopez's character is said to be only doing the job because of her daughter, she uses the money she gets from her dirty works in order to provide for her "talented and honest" daughter.

Everything changed when Lopez's character was trapped by the FBI and has to work for them and betray the same person she called "brothers" just so she won't be imprison. According to reports the series will revolve around love, loyalty, honor and betrayal.

Report has it that the broadway veteran Michael Esper was recently casted to act alongside Lopez and will be portraying the character of Donnie Pomp, a lieutenant with internal affairs who goes in between the character of Ray Liotta, Wozniak and Jennifer Lopez's character Harley.

Furthermore, Canadian child actress, Sarah Jeffery who is best known for his role Audrey in the famous Disney show Descendants was recently spotted filming and rumor has it that the young actress will be playing the role Christine, Lopez's daughter.

During an interview, Lopez left a deep statement regarding the show for the fans, "Good people do questionable things all the time, At certain times, doing the wrong thing is the right thing" Lopez had stated.

The series which was originally based on a novel by Michael Rudolph entitled Shades of Blue: 30 Years of (Un)ethical Policing, the series was said to be getting at least 13 episodes and is currently being filmed in New York city.

A teaser had been released last June 3 containing statements of Lopez, Liotta and de Matteo.

Shades of Blue is set to premiere around 2015-2016.
