Valve not expected to take the stage at upcoming E3 2015

By

Valve has now officially confirmed that they will not be taking the stage to make any presentations at E3 this year.

The news was relayed to GamesBeat via word from a Valve representative.

The somewhat expected news means fans will not be receiving any word about any new games the company has in development, at least not at the event itself.

It's worth noting that Valve's annual Summer Sale is set to start on June 11 and run all the way through to June 20, so the company could be announcing news about games within that time frame, according to Gamespot.

Valve looks like it is removing itself from the E3 events as much as it can, as they are not even listed as participants for the inaugural PC gaming show at the event.

People who have been following Valve for a while now have probably expected this news. The company has not exactly been a prominent presence at the event in the past, and in fact, 2015's absence would mark the fifth year in a row that they have opted to bypass E3, according to We Got This Covered.

The last time Valve, or at least someone from Valve, has made their presence felt at E3 was when the company's CEO, Gabe Newell, took to the stage during Sony's turn at the stage to talk about Portal 2. This happened back in 2010.

Some have pegged 2015 as the year Valve would finally rethink its E3 stance given all the activity surrounding the company.

Given the buzz that has built up surrounding the company's ViveVR headset, the event would have made sense as a good platform for them to talk about their latest product, but it appears they thought differently of the idea.

It looks like fans will have no choice than to just stay tuned to Valve for all the news they need.
