"Fargo" season 2 spoilers revealed that the FX series will go back to year 1979 during the start of Ronald Reagan's campaign trail.
According to "Fargo" season 2 spoilers from The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming episodes will focus on the corporatization of America.
"It's the Kansas City mob basically looking to do a hostile takeover of the Gerhard crime family," producer Warren Littlefield shared during the Banff World Media Festival.
"In the middle, we have a couple, Ed and Peggy Blomquist, and they get caught in the middle of a war between these two crime factions."
Littlefield also shared that season 2 will only consist of ten episodes. He added that "Fargo" was not like other network series that was expected to release a new episode every fall. The producer explained that they opted to deliver stand-alone seasons to provide viewers with fresh content every time.
E! News reported that the series will likely premiere in fall and the upcoming episodes will highlight younger Lou Solverson's story. Spoilers also hinted that a new character will join the cast to play Molly's mother. It has been rumored that Emmy-nominated actress Allison Tolman has been given the role.
Meanwhile, executive producer Noah Hawley revealed that they have experienced several difficulties in filming "Fargo" season 2, one of which is finding the right actor to portray Ronald Reagan. She revealed that this was actually one of the "greatest challenge" this year. In the end, he decided to go with Bruce Campbell, whom he described as "phenomenal."
Hawley also had nothing but praises for Jeffrey Donovan. He said that the actor had been quite a "revelation" this season and that he's sure to surprise the viewers with what he brought to the table.
"I always saw him as a great character actor, but what he's doing this time is so different and specific and powerful," he told E! News.
