"Jurassic World" update: Interview with stars Chris Pratt, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins; actors talk about their roles and the movie’s potential to renew the franchise

As Jurassic World thunders into theaters, lead star Chris Pratt and co-stars Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins about their thoughts on their characters and their involvement in possible sequels to the movie.

Screen Rant interviewed Pratt shared his thoughts about how different his character of dinosaur trainer Owen Grady is, compared to his previous role as space pirate Peter Quill in Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy. "I do feel like this is a different character. I approached it as being and always saw it as a character who is just different from Peter Quill, "he said, "it was deadly serious. There was a bit of a darkness. This is a guy who's been through something. It goes back to, who would this guy be, if this were really a job opening and they needed a person to fill this position?"

Pratt also offered some backstory for the Owen Grady character, saying that he has been an animal trainer for the Jurassic World park for several years, but the velociraptors he is shown handling in the trailer wasn't his first charges.

Teen actor Robinson shared his experiences filming in scenes in Hawaii and New Orleans. "It was definitely bigger than I could've imagined. The scope is just huge, the shot of the fully-functional park where it goes out the window across the whole landscape, or the I-Rex, the Indominus Rex and how freakin' scary that thing is." Robinson recalls that he only shot scenes for his part in the movie for about four months, but to see it all come together was awesome.

Robinson and co-star Ty Simpkins hopes that they continue on with a new trilogy of Jurassic Park films. "I hope that I continue with Jurassic Park films and that I can do more in the future," says Simpkins, while Robinson adds, "That's not up to me but yeah, I'd love to work on more of these movies. Fingers crossed. "
