Google's Hangouts messaging has had many features and it's made Hangouts on Android looked actually untidy. Now, Hangouts finally have an update that provides edgy advances and overhaul attributes. Reports say that it has a lot cleaner interface than the earlier version.
The Next Web supports an earlier version of the restructured app, which is absolutely not its last version. One obvious transformation in the app is with the Material Design language Google is chasing, with the floating 'new conversation' key in the screen's bottom right corner.
Hangouts now looks a lot more like iMessage with its suspended smoothed chat bubbles. A menu bar down the base of the message entry turf reinstates the attachment icon so you can add pictures, emoticons or location upon messaging. Also, the avatar no longer appears in the chat window, and the color scheme has been upturned; received messages are in green while comments are in white.
Android Police featured Hangouts as it loads on screen. There are no more tabs except if you have installed Hangouts Dialer. The sign in box is also replaced by a message when the screen launches.
The contacts have moved into the drawer, but you can in fact have contacts from the drawer or the FAB. If you access it from the drawer, it's a familiar looking list of contacts that trigger contact cards. From the FAB, the list triggers a new conversation with the selected contact. To begin a group discussion, you have to hit "new group". This prompts a similar list, but it permits users to pick several contacts before the conversation. The new Hangouts displays an "Anyone else?" reminder when you open a conversation.
As Hangouts 4.0 is yet to be released and apparently not yet optimized in the tablet either, changes in all probability will be altered before it is conveyed, reported in The Verge.
Back in September, Hangouts switched from gray to green in its 2.3 update, apparently making its step to joining Google's substance design show off. As of this time, users are using version 3.3 and lots of them are not pleased with the app's design and structure. How do you find Material Design for Google Hangouts?
