Mark Millar, famous for being the author of comics that turned into movies just had another huge blow. 'Kingsman: The Secret Service,' was an unanticipated box office hit worldwide, which was one of Mark Millar's works. And because of the film's big success, a sequel is surfacing. Will it happen?
The 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' had made a remarkable $400 million worldwide albeit its budget which was only $81 million. And because of its amazing result, a 'Kingsman 2' will follow up under 20th Century Fox. 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' was based on Mark Millar's comic book 'Secret Service.'
In South Korea, 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' made over $45 million which makes it the most successful hit movie in the said country.
Because it's still early, there are no available plots for the 'Kingsman 2' just yet. But rumors are spreading that Harry Hart might be brought back from the dead. According to Colin Firth, "A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel. But I'm coming up with ideas at the moment. If people buy tickets in America, I've got a feeling we'll figure out a way for having Colin back. The opening of Kingsman 2 will have a sauna and the sauna door opens and out comes Colin. It was all a dream!"
Regarding Taron Egerton's view on the sequel and Matthew Vaughn, here's what he had said: "I mean he hasn't said as much to me [Laughs]. He is famously changeable, so I don't know. A big part of Matthew's currency as a director is that he defies expectations, so don't take anything for granted. I know of those rumors because I get alerts from my publicists and things, but I haven't been told anything directly. Until I have, it's probably not wise of me to be presumptuous or comment too much. I would love to revisit the character though."
Director Matthew Vaughn will not be sure to return in the making of the sequel as he is busy directing the film 'Flash Gordon' that is also under Fox.
'Kingsman: The Secret Service' is already available on Blu Ray and DVD worldwide.
