NeoPhotonics said that it had completely acquired the LAPIS Semiconductor's semiconductor optional components business unit, which operates as the its Japanese subsidiary as of the closing.
The semiconductor business unit incurred approximately $45 million in revenue for the first nine months ending September 30 last year, based on preliminary unaudited pro forma financial data that LAPIS management provided.
The addition of the unit to NeoPhotonics is expected to be accretive to the firm's adjusted Earnings Before Interest Taxes Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) within the first year after the deal, the company estimated.
Furthermore, estimated $3-$4 million expenses related to the deal are expected to be incurred in the first quarter given that the deal concluded in the NeoPhotonics' first fiscal quarter.
