Amanda Knox Faces Slander Charges After Murder Acquittal; Foxy Knoxy’s lawyer says there is nothing to worry about

Amanda Knox is facing another legal battle in Italian court. This time, Slander will be charged on Foxy Knoxy in relation to her previous statements that Italian police forced her to say that Patrick Lumumba killed Meredith Kercher. It was 2007 that Lumumba was put into jail for 2 weeks before he was released.

Last March, Knox and her ex-boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito were cleared from murder charges for the killing of Meredith Kercher. The acquittal has shocked thousands of followers. Most people thought that this was the end of Knox' challenges over Italian laws and courts. However, Sky News reported that she will be facing slander charges. In 2007, Knox testified that Patrick Lumumba killed her housemate, Meredith Kercher but after 2 weeks, he was released from jail because of a strong alibi that was backed up by a university professor. Knox shared that she was forced by the police officers to say such accusations over Lumumba.

The Independent has summarized the case of Amanda Knox. In 2007, Meredith Kercher, a British student, was killed in a rented apartment in Italy. This was the same apartment where Knox lived. Both Knox and her then boyfriend were found guilty in 2009 of sexual assault and murder. But in 2011, they were both acquitted and Knox went back to Seattle, her home town. Knox and Sollecito tried to live normal lives prior the verdict. It was also reported that Knox became a writer in their local publication and is now engaged to her childhood friend. There is no confirmation on the date of the wedding. Most likely, this will be postponed once again until a verdict regarding the new charges comes out.

Amanda Knox will not be present in the court hearings and that witnesses are yet to testify until September. Her lawyer is confident that there is nothing to worry about the case.
